THE FRACTURE OF THE LOWER CERVICAL SPINOUS PROCESS; CLAY SHOVELER'S FRACTURE

Beyin Cerrahisi KliniğiClay Shoveler's fracture is an avulsion type fracture of one or more spinous processes of the lower cervical or upper thoracal vertebra. Most commonly C7 or T1 are affected. The usual presenting symptom is pain. Plain radiographic examination establishes the diagnosis. The treatment of isolated spinous process fracture is conservative. In this study, 4 Clay Shoveler's fracture (3 after traffic accident, 1 after falling) are presented in the review of literature.
